27 Apr HARMONIOUS LIVING IN MARRIAGE
Marriage is two people, a male, and a female sharing together in one life. Genesis 2:24, therefore, shall a man leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. It is important for a man and his wife to live in one harmony. There is one God but three persons, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit and the three live in perfect harmony with one another. They have one goal, one will, one purpose they are totally at one with one another. God had the same purpose with marriage when he made the man.
Marriage consists of two different individuals coming together for the purpose of sharing one life. This does not imply that you suppress your individuality, characteristics, character, and personality what harmonious marriage expects of you is to work together to become one. Imagine this, a husband and wife are musical instruments, the husband is a guitar and the wife is a flute, each of them are very good at playing their own kind of music, now if the two play two different tunes at the same time they would only produce noise, however, if the couple come together and play the same tune in such a way that they harmonized with one another they would create a great and amazing tune. Living one life together in marriage requires HARMONY, it is a necessity for marriage. The harmony of living one life means it is no longer living your life it is now OUR life.
Living a harmonious life in your marriage requires a lot of hard work and very important things need to be done. Firstly, there must be a COMMON VISION to work towards in the marriage, this does not mean to say that the individual vision is thrown away. Secondly is the SENSE OF VALUES which is the priority of your values, like honesty, provision of wealth. Thirdly is GOOD COMMUNICATION this is essential in having a harmonious marriage, good communication requires good listening, honesty, and openness.
Your responsibility for living in harmony is not just so that your life is happier but so that you can create an environment that would cause your children to live in harmony together. As you live in harmony it impacts on the lives of those around you particularly the lives of your children and generations to come.
