The state of Nigeria reflects the way male children in the country have been raised; to sort themselves out first and not take responsibility for those around them. Girls in Nigeria, and in many parts of the world are raised to be caretakers. However, boys are seldom taught basic responsibilities like cooking and grooming for themselves, let alone those around them. Ronke Onadeko, a first time mother in her fifties, speaks on the deliberate parenting of male children in order to raise them as responsible, caring men.
